The Tower Fireplace, Montegiove

$750.00

This was painted at the castle of Montegiove, on top of a hill in the countryside of Umbria not far from Orvieto.
The fireplace was the kitchen of the famous mercenary Erasmo of Narni nicknamed Gattamelata sometime in the early 15th century. This tower was his home and waystation with this large fireplace that still works today, where I was able to light a fire in order to make this painting.
