Day 11: Bowl with Eggs
Well, tonight I thought that I would set up something “simple” and make a pretty little painting, ha! Was I in for a surprise. Eggs, how lovely and tedious painting oval shaped white things, but mostly I just worked, reworked, drew and redrew the bowl, reaching the near making mud point with my paints. Maybe I shouldn’t be telling you this, as you are now noticing and most likely scrutinizing how I handled the eggs and bowl (if you weren”t already..)I was thinking earlier today that maybe I’m a little negative sometimes in how I talk about my paintings, so starting today I would like to add to my daily comments something positive that works and I like about the painting. In this painting I like the concept, which I think turned out to be very abstract. I mean these two circular forms inside these squares. I didn’t give too much thought to these elements in the painting , but I did purposely choose the composition to be divided with these darks and lights, but then how I rendered them as abstract shapes instead of really making them understood as objects is interesting to me and I like it.I want to keep this relatively short, so I’ll end here. A meditation on the juxtaposition between the rendered real and abstract..As always, thanks for stopping by and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Knowing that you are here reading is all that had me keep my commitment today, so thanks for being out there and tracking my progress, so far it really does feel a little like a rollercoaster ride!
