Day 14: Palm Tree Farm, Black Hammock
Seriously, central Florida is beautiful! What a great day for painting, if the wind didn’t get you all bent out of shape, it was really going full force today. Black Hammock is a special place next to lake Jessup where you can take an airboat ride, go hiking, pick strawberries or pet the local resident alligators, whatever suits your fancy. I love driving around this place and the possibilities for painting are endless. Initially I was convinced that today was a big sky painting day with big puffy clouds going by, but found this cool view of a palm tree farm and stopped here. I sometimes get overwhelmed in this place with such big landscapes and a tiny little canvas. I could have painted more than one, but I was wind whipped by the end of this session and called it a day this time. The colors are intense, and the painting left sketchy, but it captures the bright light of today for me.To buy this painting just click on the title. I found your blog from Jean Gregorek’s page. I love this project AND the paintings so much. They are so lively and GOOD! I look forward to watching this unfold. Thanks for the inspiration to Just Make Work and being open to the adventure of every day identifying a new source.
My best,
Dennie
