Day 29: At Giulio’s Desk
I’m actually sitting writing this at Giulio’s desk now. I’ve spent many an hour watching Giulio work at his desk, and now tonight it’s my turn!Giulio is my boyfriend, and I can’t tell you how happy I am to be sitting at his desk after a few months absence.. He’s a teacher, so he has spent many an evening (and Sunday) working at this desk preparing his lessons, studying and watching lots of movies in English these last couple of months diligently improving his English. He was at his desk this evening when I was painting this, but he was so into his work that he was swirling around, printing, cutting, rolling back and forth, that I decided to capture him another time when he was a little more still. Now I’m sure you’ll be wondering who he is, the mystery man that I left out of the painting. Don’t worry, he’ll show up sooner or later, he’s a great subject! I hope that he will come out painting with me when we have good weather one of these days soon, he’s really fun to go painting with weather he paints or not. Since it was Sunday and didn’t rain all morning (the sun was shining this morning!), we did what many people in Florence do on Sunday: we had a walk around the center of town and visited with friends for brunch. I love Sunday in Florence, just the air in the city seems different when you go outside, more relaxed somehow and no one has anywhere to get, especially since everything is closed! People are just strolling around cruising the city in herds, it’s really fun and funny to participate in this utterly useless and blissful activity, I highly reccommend it next time you come to Florence. Spend all Sunday wandering around the city with friends with no aim, no goal, nowhere to be and nothing to buy, it’s really awesome and more fun than I’m sure it sounds..I’m hoping for some more sun tomorrow, I’d like to paint in the center of town tomorrow, some piazza or winding street, or just capture that brief time in the late morning when a beam of light filters into a dark street here.Let’s see what tomorrow brings! To buy this painting for $100 (+ shipping) click here https://kellymedford.com/works/409298To view or buy other paintings from the 100 day project follow this link here https://kellymedford.com/collections/25604All paintings are 6×8″, painted on birch and are unframed. To share this project with someone you know, you can suggest that they sign up to receive the daily enewsletter in their inbox by clicking the following link https://kellymedford.com/email-newsletter or they can follow the project on the blog site at http://kellymedford.blogspot.com/I’m so glad that you’re all writing to me, keep the mail coming!
