Day 50: Foggy Morning Under Certosa
I set up to paint this spot with the thick morning fog and after about 5 minutes it began to lift, so I had to be quicker than I thought. This is my impression of this beautiful little foggy hilltop this morning. After the fog lifted completly I walked down into this place to get a better look, it seemed like an interesting spot. I decided to paint here and as I was setting up an old man resembling a troll came out of a falling down doorway to tell me to get outta there and to go paint somewhere else. He reccomended that I go up the hill to paint the monastery where I had just come from. I was so bummed, really! It was such a great spot with falling down houses and crumbling sheds and leaning doorways, I could immediately see lots of little paintings here. This is the first time that someone has told me to leave their property in Italy, too bad, but I have been really lucky thus far.So then I just walked all around looking for something else to paint, but nothing caught my attention like that spot with the old houses, so after a good effort of looking and walking I took the bus back to the city. Definately not a completely lost morning, just another adventure. Luckily there are an infinite amount of gorgeous things and places to paint in Italy, so I’m not worried about it.To buy this painting for $100 (+ $15 shipping) or view it directly on the website, click here.To see or buy other paintings from the 100 day project, just click here. All paintings are 6×8″, painted on birch, cost $100 and are unframed.
