Day 74: Morning in the Library

Day 74: Morning in the Library

What had me make this painting were the strips of light on the floor, without that light it just would have seemed overwhelming painting all those shelves of books. The light on the floor is what made painting all those books worth it for me this time. I guess it’s funny how such a little thing can capture my interest and enthusiasm enough to override my reservations about what I don’t like or am not sure about being able to handle in a composition. This seemed like a beautiful moment, an opportunity not to be passed up. I guess that’s all any painting is, a moment in time to be captured. It’s pretty cool spending my days looking for things that I want to paint and then just setting up the easel and painting them. I really couldn’t ask for anything more (except to keep getting better at painting of course)! Thanks for following, you’re really a trooper if you’re still following at day 74! Some days I feel like a trooper, even though it’s my project. By now I don’t even ask myself whether or not I feel like painting, I just ask what am I going to paint. If nothing else came out of this project, just the fact that I now paint every day regarless of the weather, my mood, what other people want me to do, the errands I have to run and all the other various things that could take my attention away is beyond invaluable. So thank you for being out there reading, commenting, cheering me on, or telling me when I’m off track. It’s great to know that you’re out there and making this whole thing happen! To buy today’s painting for $100, click here.
