Day 88: Afternoon Showers
I’ve been waiting for this painting, a mostly sky painting. Today while walking I saw this sky and just kept walking, trying to get where I was going. Then I realized that where I was going (in such a hurry) was to paint my daily painting! It was drizzling on and off and these enormous dark clouds were passing overhead. So I set up in this little clearing after the rain mostly stopped and attempted to capture the ever moving sky. After painting this I think that painting skies is like everything else, that how one learns to do it well is through lots and lots of repetitive practice. The sky is so different every day and changing constantly throughout the day, that it has to be one of the more challenging (and exciting) things to paint. I’m looking forward to getting in the practice. To buy today’s painting, click here.
