Day 93: Down By the Creek
I loved making this painting today. These creeks with their tannin stained water and deep shade with the light coming through are Florida to me. Even though I loved painting this, I did do battle with the little voice in my head saying it was just way too complicated. I’ve always been aware of this little voice, but today I really heard it and just kept going. I just began by putting in the darkest darks and lightest lights and went from there. It was really cool to see it develop. I love these dark scenes, they’re mysterious and yet full of air. Each day I can see that if I really do challenge myself (and that little voice in my head) that is where all the development is. All there is to do is keep going and that’s good news. You can buy today’s painting by clicking here.
