Sketching + Painting in the U.S.A.
Time flies and now it is 2015.
Happy New Year!
I’ve been busy planning my upcoming U.S.A. “tour” and coordinating with artists for upcoming workshops that we will be hosting together through the month of February.
I hope that you will join me in one of these events, the opportunity to work together with people who I admire and love their work, this is a unique and decidedly very fun winter.

Sketching Oakland: A Day at Lake Merritt

For seasoned sketchers or complete newcomers to drawing and sketching, we will spend the morning working with fun, simple and direct techniques for keeping a sketchbook journal.
We will use the scenic Lake Merritt as our inspiration as we go over working in pen, pencil and watercolor. All materials will be provided for you. It will be fun and relaxed and in the afternoon after our sketching workshop we can have lunch and continue sketching for those who like and I will give a more in-depth watercolor demonstration.

Big Sur, CA: Watercolor Sketching + Plein Air Oil Painting

Together with award-winning local artist Erin Gafill, we are offering three 1-day workshops in capturing the magic and majestic beauty that is Big Sur. I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with local artists and to be a guest in this captivating place.
Watercolor sketchbook will be a day of learning some simple and straightforward techniques to improve your ability in quickly capturing the essence of a place in watercolor. Erin and I will work with each person individually along with giving thorough demonstrations of how to capture the light, mood and feel of a place quickly and succinctly in watercolor.

Plein air painting in oils, acrylics or watercolor on both Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 is an exciting opportunity to work to expand your knowledge of capturing a place quickly in your preferred medium. Join us for 1 day or both, it’s up to you, but I hope to see you there.

In collaboration with Orlando’s #1 urban sketcher Thomas Thorspecken, we will be hosting Orlando’s first sketching tour. Seeing the city and its surroundings in a new way is a real way to cherish and appreciate the everyday beauty of this city outside the world of Disney.
We will walk you through various techniques for keeping a sketchbook journal in pen, pencil and watercolor and help you in learning how to choose what to sketch, how to compose it and the best medium for your sketch. This is an opportunity for experienced sketchers to build on their skills as well as complete beginners to get out and learn a new way of seeing life around you.
