This place, one that I return to over and over again, is one of Rome’s magical places where time stands still. The light is different each time I visit and always offers something new.

Painted during the summer when the farmer’s were bailing hay, these bales gave the perfect addition to the composition and marked this moment in time.

A storm started rolling in but I kept painting, hoping quite naively that it would pass. Since the aqueduct park is very large and takes awhile to get out of, when I knew that I could not wait any longer before the storm, I literally threw my brushes in my bike’s saddle bags and bolted to reach cover under the arches before the downpour began.

This storm provided the most marvelous purples and blues that contrasted with the warm reds and yellows of the hay and once again, provided the most unique moment in time here in Rome.

This painting along with several others is being offered on sale through the month of December. All prices include worldwide shipping and are unframed.
