Painting Giants: The Colosseum
This is one of my favorite views of Rome’s most well-known and celebrated monument.
The park just across the street, Colle Oppio gives you a great view and is the perfect place to stop and relax if you’re in this area and need a break.

This is the first time I have ever painted The Colosseum, framed by cypress trees makes it easier to take it in. The sheer enormity of this monument lets you feel the grand scale of Roman times. I remember this feeling of being overpowered by this giant the first time I visited Rome, more than 10 years ago now.
