Rome Off the Beaten Track
This time of year Rome is bustling with tourists. And rightfully so since Italy is the land of La Dolce Vita.
Where I live though is off the beaten track and stays relatively the same throughout the year.

Life in this neighborhood is almost like life in a small village. Most neighborhoods in Rome are this way.
In the morning is when you go to the market to get that day’s produce. People are hurrying to get to work. Then at lunch time all is quiet on the streets, but the smells of what’s cooking comes wafting down onto the street.
In the evening people are out sitting in the piazza chatting, walking their dogs and having a drink.
Living here I almost forget that the historical center of the ancient city of Rome is just down the road. And then I jump on my bike and get re immersed in this ancient and extraordinary city.
It never gets old.
