The voices of painting teachers past rang in my ears today- I could just hear their comments about never painting objects that aren’t related, don’t make sense together or tell a story.I blew them off though and followed my instinct of a pleasing arrangement with the primary colors: yellow, red and blue.I’ve painted other still lives based on these colors, they return me to the basics and have me use the most simple colors in an un-simple way.Isn’t it almost always best to just go with what your gut tells you and let those voices fade into the past?
