The Artist at Work
I love seeing artists at work in their studios. It’s always such a treat to visit them and see them in action.Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a group of 10 artists in Rome’s Gianicolo neighborhood right next door to the marvellous Villa Pamphili. This group who has given themselves the name Piano Creativo, has an entire floor of studios with huge windows, every painter’s ideal setting.Sonia in Her Studio8×6″Oil on Linen Panel©Kelly MedfordI was lucky and caught Sonia working at her table for a few hours. I watched her work and she goes between smaller work on her table and then large work hung directly on the wall.Sonia is a watercolorist and makes jewelery on occasion. Her work is exquisite and delicate, she is talented and sharp in her observations. It was a day well spent and in good company. You can see or purchase today’s painting hereSee all other paintings from the 120 Day Project hereUpcoming Workshops:Paint Italy en Plein Air 2013Workshops include Rome, Umbria and VeniceClick here for details
