Sunny Milan
Milan was unexpectedly warm and sunny while I was visiting just after Christmas this year. In fact the Milanesi seemed a little disoriented by the warm sunny days. I was pretty excited though after having prepared to suffer mentally and physically since I was going painting no matter what.Viale Lazio, Milan10×8″Oil on Panel© Kelly MedfordMilan is delightful and the neighborhood I was staying in was full of green spaces with wide avenues, it was a city I could breathe in.A few elderly passersby stopped to chat and a couple even pulled over and got out of the car, I guess they’re not used to seeing someone painting on a random street (i.e. not the Cathedral in the center of town, a drawing challenge to temp only the wicked..). So it was fun for me to get to know a few Milanesi and not suffer in the cold either. You can see or purchase today’s painting here on my websiteSee other paintings from the 120 Day Project hereUpcoming Workshops: 2013 is packed full of painting!Click here to come and paint Venice, Rome or Umbria.
