Day 53: Standing Alone
One of my favorite haunts, the aqueduct park, was just waiting to be painted again today. The weather is gorgeous with those high floating clouds and clear skies after the latest rains. This was a day just to enjoy being outside and of course, painting. The Lone Arch, Claudius8×6″Oil on Panel© Kelly Medford, 2012The dilemma of the small canvas is how much can I fit in here and still make a decent painting? Today I decided to pick one thing, this arch from a Roman aqueduct, and capture that. Focusing on a single object or center of interest seems to work best for me with this size canvas.Lucky for me I had company again today. I talked Cory into coming all the way out to the park to paint. We loaded up our saddle bags and jumped no our bikes- she’s a really good sport! Her painting was gorgeous and I’m sure she’ll post this one along with her others done on this painting trip to Italy on her website when she gets home. Thanks for following adventures in painting- everyday really is an adventure!Today’s painting is available for $120 from my website:http://kellyaskey.fineartstudioonline.com/works/988937/the-lone-arch-claudiusSee other paintings from the 120 Day Project:http://kellyaskey.fineartstudioonline.com/dataviewer.asp?keyvalue=13530&subkeyvalue=48556&Page=ViewCollection&displayperpage=9999
