Day 59: Ideal Settings
A morning spent in the shade of an olive tree is always well spent.Back in Tuscany, I couldn’t avoid but spend the morning trying to capture the ever elusive olive tree. I say that because sometimes they can be tricky to paint. What color is it? What shape is it exactly? And so on.Just the word Tuscany most likely conjures up visions of olives trees and vineyards over rolling hills with the earth colored houses and castles spotting the hillsides. That’s pretty much what it looks like.In the Olive Grove, San Domenico6×8″Oil on Panel© Kelly Medford, 2012Sometimes Tuscany is too beautiful. It’s perfectly manicured and every tree is in its place. I love Tuscany. The light and food and countryside are wonderful. And so paintable. You can see today’s painting or buy it here from my website.
