Day 91: Working Late
I just love this workbench. Can’t you relate to this space? Organized chaos. Only the owner of this workbench (not me!) knows where anything is here I’m sure.Late Night at the Workbench8×6″Oil on Panel© Kelly Medford, 2012This was a lot of fun to paint, partly because of the sheer challenge of how to go about painting stuff alll over the place and also partly because I couldn’t really see what I was doing (I forgot my little book light), so I was mixing colors half in the dark.I just had to capture this as I feel like it is a perfect visual explination for how we (I) work so many times. There’s an order to our madness, but only we know what it is inside our minds. There are boxes and tins neatly stacked here on the shelves and then the tools are out for working on something and then papers with notes, bags and then who knows what else that I didn’t even notice. This is a working workshop and a work in progress. The dots of reds, yellows and blues were perfect to hold the painting together and to keep me trying to figure out a way through the chaos. You can buy today’s painting here from my website for $120.Thanks so much for your interest and for following the 120 Day Project!
