In the Field, Via di Acqua Bullicante
In the Field, Via di Acqua BullicanteOil on Panel7.5×10″© Kelly Medford, 2011SOLDThis is what I look at every day when I leave my building to go painting. It’s a view that I love and the look of the field changes constantly with the light of the day and with the seasons. As I get ready to head back to the U.S. I can’t concentrate so much on painting, I’m getting nervous for some reason, even if the states is home.I’ve always wanted to paint this, but somehow feel almost silly painting in my street, I prefer to go to a neighborhood where I’m anonymous. Isn’t that funny? I felt like just whipping out a sketch and not being overly careful of the drawing, I wanted to caputure the feel of this place, which is what is important to me. I have dreams and designs for this wide open field just across the way. I dream of it being an enormous vegetable garden feeding our street where people could meet and work together. In the meantime I imagine I will paint it again and take a bigger canvas. The afternoon light here is stunning.
