Day 97: Geraniums on the Front Walk
Each morning when I come back from painting, I walk by this pot of geraniums. When the light is just right, I say to myself ,”I’ve got to paint that!” So I finally did.The color of these flowers is so outrageous that they don’t seem natural, so I did keep them toned down a little. I think they are balanced out anyway by the warm red of the pot with the green in between them. This was just fun and a little different, a break from the last few days of larger scenes on the road with the shadows playing on the trees. I like the change, variety keeps painting alive and interesting for me.To buy or view today’s painting on the website, click here. To view all other paintings from the 100 day project, click here.
