Day 87: Redbud, Duke Gardens
That’s right, Duke Gardens. I’m already on the road again and am in North Carolina today. Visiting with my old friend she thought that taking the dog to the gardens at Duke University was the perfect thing to do on this gorgeous sunny day. Everything is in bloom and the brightest green that you can imagine.I was a little overwhelmed by the overabundance of foliage, but thought that this was my opportunity to jump in and get some practice. Why I chose this composition was for the way the Redbud tree was in shadow surrounded by all this bright light, it really struck me.I enjoyed my day with my friend, her dog, painting and the gardens. I’m amazed by how I could just make it all work, it’s pretty cool and definitely satisfying being able to do everything that I wanted today, and before starting this project I never would have thought to include painting on a visit to a friend, but why not?To buy today’s painting, click here.
