Day 81: Evening View from San Niccolo’
I’m writing this to you fresh off the plane from Italy, a little tired but feeling good and excited to do some more Florida landscapes.Knowing this would be the case, I painted today’s painting yesterday evening on the Arno as the sun was setting. Racing against what was left of the light, I felt like an athlete who had been training and this was the race. I didn’t have time to stop and think or analyze, but rather had to make snap decisions as the light was changing before my eyes. I was so present to the beauty that is Florence in the moment of painting this, and while sad to be leaving just as the weather is really turning good, I also just felt lucky to have had the chance to paint this.I can’t believe we’re in the last few weeks of the 100 day journey, it’s just racing by. Sharing this project and my journey with you has brought me changes and abundance that I never expected. Thank you for being a part of the experience and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s painting adventure will be.
