Day 68: La Primera, Pencil Box

Day 68: La Primera, Pencil Box

Today I was house/cat sitting and there were just so many interesting objects in this house I couldn’t resist but paint something, so I chose this pencil box. It’s quite large, I imagine it was a cigar box. I’m not really sure what it was, but now it’s full of different colored pencils.

Today the weather was still moody and although I would have gladly painted outside, I wanted to explore my new temporary surroundings and enjoyed the change of painting inside today. Looking at all the different paintings from the project I realized today that I enjoy the change of scenery so to speak. I like painting inside and outside, interiors, still lifes, landscapes and being open to something different each day. I don’t know if a painter is supposed to have one genre to focus on more or less, but for me it seems to work mixing things up a little, variety seems to be an element of painting that keeps me interested.

So, who knows what tomorrow will bring in terms of subject matter, but I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for following and talk to you tomorrow!
