Day 42: Winter Morning, Apennenine Mountains
I wasn’t kidding about that artic wind yesterday, so as a result there was snow on the mountains this morning, beautiful! I found this spot in a wet field on the side of the road. (Sorry about the bad photo..) I guess I spend a lot of time complaining about winter, but really with a big coat and good wool hat (plus it’s really not that cold here..) winter can make for a beautiful subject to paint.Today the sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, just what I was waiting for. And I did what I said, after this painting I started a bigger one, not of this composition but another scene nearby, as the light had changed by the time I finished this one. I was pretty tired after working on this and the big painting, I need to get my stamina built up so that I can do some longer paintings. That’s all for today. As always I have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but I am looking forward to it.To view today’s painting on the website, click here.
