Day 27: In the Kitchen

Day 27: In the Kitchen

Okay, so my first day back it’s actually pretty warm, which I’m grateful for, but it was raining all day! I planted myself in the kitchen door of my new apartment to paint. My roommates were a little surprised but very gracious and tried to stay out of the kitchen even though I told them that it was okay to be in there, to act normal and just use the kitchen as they normally would. But from their point of view it must have been strange to have a new person show up and immediately set to work with their easel.. How fun!I do apologize for the glare in the photo, I’m still getting myself organized here. I enjoyed painitng the kitchen, but it was more challenging than I had imagined: all that white and those subtle half tones (I seem to be fixated with white and all of it’s variations..) It was still an engaging painting.Tomorrow I’m determined to paint outside rain or shine. One of my favorite things about Italy is it’s landscape. I must admit I’m still a little tired, but it just takes a few days to adjust to the change. I am looking forward to sharing Florence with you as seen through my eyes: the city that I’ve come to know over the last 5 years and some of my favorite unexpected places. Until tomorrow.. Thanks for following and keep writing to me, you keep me going! To buy this painting or view others from the 100 day project, click on the following link: www.kellymedford.com/works.
